The Course Suitable for all levels of ability with the emphasis on enjoyment. The course will cover the basics of colour theory, composition and landscape painting, with special exercises on still-life and painting outdoors, both in the immediate surroundings at L'Oliveto and on field trips. Each day will begin around 10am for a discussion in the studio. There will be a break for lunch from 1pm until 3pm and the afternoon session will end around 6pm. On three days there will be trips out, to see paintings by the local artists, Crivelli and Lotto, one to a market in a seaside town and to lunch in a fish restaurant on the coast, and a shopping trip to some of the factory outlets. Supplies and Equipment Some art materials will be available for sale but guests should bring their own materials, paints, brushes and paper. Portable easels and chairs are advised. A Comprehensive list of materials will be supplied on booking. L'Oliveto L'Oliveto is a restored farmhouse set in an olive grove in a tranquil valley with views of the local town, Mogliano. Le Marche is in Central Italy, a gentle province where the traditions of the rural year are still closely followed. Macerata, fifteen minutes away, is an elegant little city with university and busy theatre season. The spectacular Sibyllni Mountain range line the horizon and the Adriatic coast is forty minutes away.
